About Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF):
Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF is a $285 million regional fund, a pioneer in Ukraine and Moldova with over 29 years of successful experience in investing in small and medium-sized enterprises. UMAEF f/k/a WNISEF was established by the U.S. government through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Primary Function/Purpose:
The Program and Operations Assistant (POA) will provide programmatic and administrative support to UMAEF’s activities, operations, and office in Moldova. The POA will work closely with all UMAEF staff, under the direction of the Country Representative.
Location: Chisinau, Moldova (full-time)
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support for program implementation through workflow management, including but not limited to tracking partner reporting, ensuring complete reports are submitted on time, and confirming reported results are consistent with the contract or agreement; and
- Maintaining grantee award files and activity files.
- Providing analysis and recommendations on SME development issues and activities; tracking key political and reform developments to ensure UMAEF programs are designed and targeted to respond to needs, opportunities, and challenges; conducting research and analysis to support current and future programming (including collecting, analyzing, and tracking statistical indicators)
- Drafting and editing English language reports on activity issues and accomplishments related to UMAEF activities
- Assisting the Country Representative and other team members with scheduling, transport planning, and meeting arrangements as needed.
- Preparing and assembling briefing materials, including presentations and handouts, for meetings and special events.
- Communicating with contractors, grantees, non-governmental actors, and other relevant individuals to obtain information related to UMAEF’s activities
- Coordinating with the UMAEF communications team to manage social media pages, prepare post updates, and draft short texts for UMAEF external communications.
- Attending internal and external meetings and taking minutes.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in international development, finance/economics, business, international relations or other program-related field
- Experience assisting the delivery of international technical assistance programs or foreign NGO, organization, or business.
- Professional working proficiency in Romanian and English, both written and spoken, is required.
- Professional working proficiency in Russian is an asset.
- Knowledge of Moldovan politics, political system, government, and electoral system.
- Familiarity with USAID regulations and requirements is preferred.
